Wow. Y'all have inundated me with requests (nay, demands) for pictures - of our new apartment, our new town, everything. To keep the masses happy, here goes. First up are some pictures of our flat. It's a penthouse - we're on the 4th floor (which is technically the 3rd floor here). We have to go up a tiny spiral staircase to get up here, but it's so worth it. As you can see, we have a TON of natural light, which makes me SO happy. It's also a LOT bigger than we expected it to be, which is nice. We're pretty pleased with our accommodations. We were SO exhausted last night, and we're still jet-lagged. We went to bed around midnight, and slept until noon. It was marvelous. After taking a shower for the first time in two days (thank heavens), we grabbed lunch at a nearby boulangerie (bakery). They often have combinations you can buy, such as a sandwich on a baguette, a dessert, and a drink. We split a ham sandwich on a baguette with lettuce, tomato, and yes Mom, mayonnaise. I ate it, and I even liked it, although I think it's the quality of the bread that really made it amazing ;) There is NOTHING like a French sandwich. Lunch is my favorite meal here. Once we were cleaned and fed, we set out on the train to Chenonceaux, a nearby chateau. It's GORGEOUS - think the Biltmore on steroids. I had gone last time we were here, but B has never been, so I wanted to take him while he was off work. It was definitely more crowded now than it was when I came in October last time (there were several school groups, argh), but the chateau was just as beautiful as I remembered. B really liked it. We took tons of great pictures, so I TRIED to narrow it down to a few to show you. I mean, I COULD post all 100+, but that would take a REALLY long time to upload, so you'll just have to make do. We're still loving our new home, and we can't wait to show you more! xoxo, E & B
