Okay, I know it's technically still winter for another month. But you guys, this is my very favorite time of year - when it's just starting to think about getting warm, when this ridiculous South Carolina weather finally, finally makes it up to me for our long, miserable summers. I love spring. It's no accident our wedding was in April. But more than spring itself, I love this time of year, this almost-ness, those surprise warm days that make everyone happy. That first, tiptoe-ing whisper of the pretty weather to come does something special for my soul. It's like I come out of hibernation and love ALL THE PRETTY COLORFUL THINGS. No more of the navys and chocolate browns and blacks of fall and winter. GIVE ME ALL OF THE COLORS. So in celebration, I've amassed a roundup of my favorite bright, colorful, eye-catching goodies right now. I hope you love them, too! xoxo, E 1 // Old Navy striped sweater. My mom bought me this on my birthday shopping trip, and I am in love. It's a perfect weight for these in-between-y hot-cold-can't-make-up-its-mind days, but the colors are full-on spring, and so cheerful. It literally makes me smile just to look at it. You can wear it with jeans or a pair of shorts, and it's so comfortable. Plus, it's cheap - gotta love Old Navy. Grab one before they sell out! 2 // SugarFix by BaubleBar earrings. If I had to pick a favorite kind of jewelry, earrings would be it. I found these beauties in Target while trying to buy file folders, and well, I fell in love. I love the bright colors for spring, and with so many options, you can match just about anything. I bought two pairs of the beaded tassel earrings and a double set of the jeweled stud earrings, and I continually get compliments on them. 3 // Sweeter Than Honey coloring book. I'm doing just about everything I can to keep myself calm and my adrenal glands relaxed - including coloring. And this is one of the best adult coloring books I've found. I love words, and would much rather color beautiful fonts than overly intricate (aka stressful) pictures. Best of all, the text is actually Bible verses, and different prayers and encouragements are offered throughout the book. If you've been on the fence about adult coloring books, this is a great place to start. 4 // Staedtler Ergosoft colored pencils. Well, you can't have a coloring book without colored pencils, can you? I'd been using some cheap-y ones that came with an adorable pencil roll my mom gave me, but I had to press really hard to get any kind of color. A quick Google search for "best colored pencils" led to these guys. Gorgeous rich colors with a great payoff - no more hand cramp, hallelujah! They're a little pricier than your standard Crayolas, but worth it if you're into coloring. 5 // Mustard Froot washi tape. Also in the crafty realm, I am in love with this washi tape. I bought it solely for the watermelon one (watermelon printed things are my favorite!), but all the others are adorable, too. I use it to jazz up plain white or butcher paper wrapping paper or to seal cards. I also have some washi tape around my iPhone charger to distinguish it from everyone else's. The uses are endless, and these colorful patterns scream "Spring." They also make me hungry. Which leads to... 6 // Divine dark chocolate with pink Himalayan salt. It wouldn't be an "Emily's favorites" list without at least one food item. We are allowed to have high-quality dark chocolate, and this fits the bill. It has pink Himalayan salt (the good-for-you salt!) and it tastes amazing. Best of all, Divine brand chocolate is fair-trade and they're committed to ethical business practices and giving back. You can read more about that here. They also have tons of yummy flavors (I'm partial to the mint, too!) if salted dark chocolate isn't your thing.
